What You Need to Know Now

The fears over coronavirus, Covid-19
are spreading faster than the illness. The
Important take away is that most people
with this illness recover, called Self Resolve
by health authorities. Most of the
emphasis has been on aviation concerning
passengers. So far, there have been
few restrictions on air cargo due to the
inanimarte nature of goods but direct
cargo fl ights from the Wuhan area have
been suspended. Governor Cuomo has
this to say, “The State is working in coordination
with the federal government.
My concern was, in many ways the fi rst
step of this process, the step that we need
to get right, we need to get right immediately
is testing capacity. You want to be
able to test people, you want to be able to
get results quickly,” as he shared new information
on the virus in NY. New Yorkers
can call the State hotline at 1-888-364-
3065, where experts can answer questions
regarding the novel coronavirus.

Amazon is coming, Amazon is coming to JFK 21st JFK Air Cargo
Amazon Air
cargo is coming to
JFK Airport. Worldwide
Flight Services
is the ground
handler for the airplanes
which will
begin to carry goods
to the airport in
mid-March.
ATI air transport is said to be the
company that is wet-leasing the Boeing
767 aircraft Amazon Air ( Prime
Air) and expected to make between 2-6
fl ights a day into building 151,which
has been partially cleared to accommodate
the large volume of goods.
WFS will act as the terminal, not a
warehouse, handling the goods which
will then be picked up by Amazon
trucks to be delivered
to various warehouse
and distribution
facilities. There
are a few of these in
the Queens area now.
Dozens of new dollies
are stacked up
and lined up outside
of Bldg.151 getting
ready for the shipments that will begin
shortly.
WFS had recently improved its logistics
with the large number of truckers
picking up and delivering to the
warehouse. Agents are at the entrance,
taking information and scheduling
truckers to reduce the wait time. This
is just in time for the anticipated surge
in shipments.
