JFK Rotary & JetBlue Wow Special Children

The JFK Rotary Club hosted over 400 special needs children at its annual Kids Christmas Party at JetBlue. A JetBlue plane served as Santa’s transportation this year, and he made a grand entrance waving his arms and shouting his traditional “ho, ho, ho” to the awaiting kids.

Rotarians dressed as elves helped teachers assemble everyone in line to see Santa. Every willing child, able bodied or wheelchair assisted had a chance to sit on or near Santa’s lap and tell him what they wished for Christmas.

The “Elves” also helped feed the children with snacks provides by Airline Vending, and to give a backpack to each one while Aramax entertained kids tables and continues to provide special needs people with jobs. Mark Klein of WUSB radio, helped produce the program as he had done for years.

John Selden, Deputy General Manager of JFK Airport came to vist with Santa as well. His wish was kept a secret however! Music was provided by The Mistletones. The Aviation High School Honor Guard performed and Sparky the Islander mascot and colorful MM dressed characters danced with the children.
