Lufthansa introduced its new livery world wide. It’s 747 landed at JFK to unveil the latest design to the largest international airport in the world.

Delta Air Lines on Feb. 14, will pay out more than $1 billion in profit sharing for the fourth year in a row and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments made possible by its more than 80,000 employees around the world. Delta employees earned the $1.1 billion payout for their role in delivering record-breaking operational and customer satisfaction performance as well as strong financial performance.

Qatar Airways has taken delivery of the world’s first Airbus A350-1000 as the aircraft’s global launch customer.

“It will become a firm part of the Qatar Airways fleet, making us the biggest operator in the world of this aircraft type and maintain our status as flying one of the youngest fleets in the sky, with an average age of just five years”.

It is the first Airbus aircraft to be fitted with Qatar Airways’ revolutionary Qsuite Business Class seat.

New Flyer of America Inc. on Feb. 22, announced that Golden Touch Transportation of NY Inc. has awarded it with an order for 12 Xcelsior, 40-foot, heavy-duty transit buses.

Golden Touch, a subsidiary of Transdev North America, will deploy the buses at John F. Kennedy International Airport to support the expansion of Delta Air Lines’ JFK Jitney Shuttle service that Golden Touch operates. The shuttles provide ground service for passengers arriving and departing on regional Delta flights, as well as an employee shuttle from parking lots to Delta terminals.

“New Flyer is proud to support Golden Touch Transportation with efficient and reliable transit buses to continue delivering leading transportation services in the New York area,” said Wayne Joseph, president, New Flyer of America. “It is important that we help move Americans where they need to go every day, and we are proud to be relied on by Golden Touch, Delta Air Lines, and JFK airport to move people safely and affordably through New York’s busiest airport.”

Norwegian recently took delivery of its 100th direct buy Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the last of this aircraft type in its fleet. Norwegian originally ordered 42 737-800 in 2007 and leased 26 of these aircraft between 2008 and 2016.

The airline now has 118 737-800 aircraft in its fleet. Norwegian’s low fares have sparked controversy and competition within the industry amid its growth.

Low airline bumping numbers in 2017, the carriers posted a bumping rate of 0.34 per 10,000 passengers, the lowest annual rate based on historical data dating back to 1995.
