JFK Synagogue
celebrates Chanukah
Candles, and fellowship
on lighting the night
The International Synagogue at JFK Airport held its annual
Chanukah celebration at the Chapel area at JFKIAT on the 4th
night of the 8-day celebration.
It was the occasion for the Synagogue to dedicate the Sanctuary
in the name of Rabbi Alvin Poplack, the Chaplain of the Synagogue
as spiritual leader to the JFK community and travelers from
around the world fro 1986-2002 and his wife Rosalind, a community
benefactor. Attendance at this year’s event was strong. Because
of covid, last year’s celebration did not happen. So many
supporters e=were eager to mix with friends and admire the dedication
to the Poplacks and to share in the meal of latkes and donuts,
of course!
Rabbi Korenblit of the JFK Synagogue explains the beauty and significance
of Chanukah.
