JFK Airport passenger count inched up again.
Total International arrivals approx.
33,000; TSA count departing count
61,000. Total flights between 950-1050 a
day vs. between 1400-1500 pre-covid for
the week ending August 16.
TSA began its annual comprehensive
inspections throughout the airport on July
26 and expects 4-6 week program.
Cashless Parking is now in effect
in many lots across Port airports. Credit
cards or Easy Pass only allowed for payment.
Port Authority Annual Minimum
Wage Increase effective September 1st,
2021. From 16.20 to $17. Maxs out to $19,
on Sept 1 2023.
SkyTrax to begin audits and review at
JFK for Covid safety rating.

USDOT Notice of Proposed Rule Making
-Baggage and Ancillary Fees . On July
20, DOT published requirements to provide
refund for delayed. baggage and unused
ancillary fees.
CDC remains firm on severe restrictions
on canine arrivals to US, warning
airlines of costs associated with refused
animal arrivals at the airports.

Terminal One
ITA, Italia Trasporto Aereo ( Italy Air
Transport)
has bought bankrupt Alitalia and
changing the name to ITA.
JFKIAT T4
SmarteCarte awarded 6 months
contract for porter and baggage handling.
Recently partnered with travel retail
technology company Inflyter and DFS
Group to launch a branded digital marketplace.
The new ecommerce site enables
travelers flying through T4 to purchase
Duty Free items online before arriving at
T4, or while waiting for departure at their
gate, dining at the terminal, or at one of
T4’s premium lounges. Customers can
visit the website, place their orders, and
complete payment before arrival or while
waiting for their flight to depart.
China, Kuwait and WestJet scheduled
to begin service again in August and September.
ELAL to work with XpresCheck for covid
testing.
ULD rack construction to begin near
SAir Traffic Control tower for more efficient
and safe ramp equipment storage.

JMP consortium sing lease with Port
for T6 and T5 redevelopment.

ramp transportation for code-shared travelers.

British Airways flagship US lounge at
JFK’s Terminal 7 reopened Sunday, following
a 16-month closure.
The UK Government now allows double
vaccinated travelers from the United
States to be exempt from quarantine on
arrival into the UK starting August 2.
